If the mail client isn't ignoring read receipt requests, then it gives the reader a message asking if the reader wants to send a read receipt many people select no. Most mail clients can be set up to simply ignore read receipt requests. And, frankly, you shouldn't use read receipts. Tap the Info icon and turn on the switch for Send Read Receipts. Outlook:Mac doesn't have the read receipt feature. Outlook for Windows, and now Mac, have a ‘Read Receipt’ option on the Options tab. Nice theory but it’s complicated out here in the real world. Turn on the switch for Send Read Receipts. You can enable read receipts for everyone who texts you under Settings > Messages. You can stop stressing today just as you can enable read receipts, you can also turn them off completely or just for specific individuals. Unfortunately, this feature can become a source of anxiety or concern for all parties, especially when you see someone view your message but not respond in a timely manner.
